Marinó Örn Tryggvason

CEO

Marinó Örn Tryggvason joined Kvika as Deputy CEO in August 2017 and became CEO in May 2019. Prior to joining Kvika, Marinó worked at Arion banki from 2002. Marinó served as Vice Managing Direrctor of Asset Management at Arion banki from 2014 until 2017 and as Head of Asset Management of professional clients from 2007 until 2014. Marinó sat on the Board of Vörður Tryggingar in 2016 to 2017. Marinó holds a B.Sc. business degree from the University of Iceland and is a certified securities broker.

Ármann Thorvaldsson

Deputy CEO

Armann Thorvaldsson joined Kvika as CEO in June 2017 and became Deputy CEO in May 2019. Mr. Thorvaldsson has worked in the financial markets for over twenty years. From 1997 until 2005 he was Head of Corporate Finance at Kaupthing and in 2005 until 2008 he was CEO of Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander in London. Later Mr. Thorvaldsson worked at Ortus Secured Finance in London until 2015 when he joined Virding. Mr. Thorvaldsson headed up Virding´s Corporate Finance division before joining Kvika. Mr. Thorvaldsson has an MBA degree from Boston University and a BA degree in history from the University of Iceland.

Lilja Jensen

General Counsel

Lilja Jensen has worked for Kvika and its predecessor since 2012 and as General Counsel since 2015. Prior to that, Lilja worked for LOGOS legal services, intermittently from 2008 to 2012 along with law studies and following graduation. Prior to legal work, Lilja worked as a nurse at the National University Hospital of Iceland and Eir nursing home. Lilja holds a BSc degree in nursing from the University of Iceland, BA and ML degree in law from Reykjavik University and is licensed to plead cases before the district courts of Iceland.

Ragnar Páll Dyer

Managing Director, Finance

Ragnar Dyer joined the Kvika Group in 2010 and was appointed Managing Director of Jupiter Capital Management in 2013. He was then appointed Managing Director of Finance and Operations at Kvika in 2019. Mr. Dyer started his career in the financial sector in 2007. Before he joined Kvika he served as a fund manager and a partner of Teton Investments and at Straumur Investment bank as a broker and specialist in interest rates and derivatives. Mr. Dyer has completed the Stanford Executive Program from Stanford University, holds a B.Sc. degree in Engineering Management from the University of Reykjavík and is a licensed securities broker. 

Ólöf Jónsdóttir

Managing Director, Commercial Banking

Ólöf Jónsdóttir holds a BS in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Iceland and a Masters in Operation Research from the London School of Economics. Ólöf has been working within the Icelandic financial market for more than a decade. In 2017, she began work at Kvika Bank as Director of Strategic Planning and Operations Management but eventually took on the role of Director of Financial Technologies.
Most recently, Ólöf has held the position of Managing Director of Lykill Financing. In April 2021, she took up a new position as Managing Director of Kvika’s Operations and Development Division. In april 2022 she became Managing Director, Banking

Bjarni Eyvinds

Managing Director, Investment banking

Bjarni Eyvinds has worked in the financial markets for over 15 years. Mr. Eyvinds joined Kvika in 2009 and took over as Managing Director of Capital Markets in 2010. Prior to joining Kvika, Mr. Eyvinds served as Senior Vice president of Equity of sales in Straumur Investment Bank. Previously, he worked for MP Investment Bank administrating the division of Capital Markets and Proprietary Trading. After graduation, Mr. Eyvinds began working for Spron, where he worked in asset management and later his own business. Mr. Eyvinds holds a BBA degree from George Washington University and has completed a degree in securities brokerage.

Thomas Skov Jensen

Managing Director, Risk Management

Thomas Skov Jensen has worked for Kvika and its predecessors since 2007 and as Head of Risk Management since 2008. He previously worked for Efla Engineering and the construction contractors Istak and Pihl. Thomas holds an MS degree in engineering from DTU in Denmark and an MBA from Reykjavík University. Thomas also holds an international certification as Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).

Anna Rut Ágústsdóttir

Managing Director, Operations and Development

Anna Rut holds a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration and an MCF degree in corporate finance from Reykjavík University and has completed a degree in securities trading. Anna Rut has worked within the Kvika Group since 2007. Anna Rut was Head of Kvika's Office from 2017-2019, Head of Kvika's Business Relations from 2015-2017 and Head of Credit Risk at Straumur Investment Bank hf. from 2011-2015. In addition, Anna Rut has been involved in various projects in the fields of lending, asset management and finance. Anna Rut took over the position of Director of Operations and Development in April 2022.
